AUSTIN, Texas — AUSTin, Texas meteorologist Mark Gorman says meteorologists in the state can use the National Weather Service’s Texas Meteorological Service to predict severe weather events.
Gorman, a meteorologist with the Texas Meteorology Service, told ABC News on Thursday that meteorologists can use weather service data and reports to identify where and when storms are likely to occur, how fast they will be moving, and what to do about them.
Weather services in other states can use those same reports to help predict and prepare for future severe weather.
Gommon said he can predict how severe the next storm will be, and if it will be a major storm or not.
Gommon is a senior meteorologist at the Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport.
Weather service reports also can help to predict where storms will be in the future.
Weather service reports can show the area where the next severe weather event will occur, and how much the storm will affect people in that area.
Gomons report shows where he expects a storm to occur.
